FAMILIES IN LITURGY / TEEN MASS PARTICIPATION FORM

 What is Families in Liturgy?

A committee that organizes and provides family-oriented programs that take place during the weekly mass schedule, with the intent of making the Sunday liturgies more welcoming and engaging for all family members.

What programs does the Families in Liturgy committee provide?

Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW), Family Masses, and Teen Masses.

 What is CLOW?

The Children’s Liturgy of the Word program takes place during roughly the first three Sundays per month at the 10:30 mass.  Your family can attend mass together, and any children in kindergarten through grade 5 will be invited to a different location after the opening prayer for the Liturgy of the Word section of Mass.  They will hear the same readings as the congregation, except in a version from the Children’s Lectionary that is easier for them to understand.  They will also be involved in an interactive homily after the readings.  It is a wonderful opportunity for them to get more engaged in the Mass.

 What are Family Masses?

The Family Masses occur roughly once per month at the Sunday 10:30 mass, and different families and family members (transcending all generations) will be involved as lectors/readers, gift bearers, greeters, ushers, liturgical dancers, etc.   In addition, the Spirit Singers, our newest musical group involving several teenagers and several instruments, will provide the music for these Family Masses.

 What are Teen Masses?

The Teen Masses will occur once per month during the Sunday 5:00pm mass, and will be specially focused towards Teens.  These masses will also utilize the Spirit Singers and will involve Teens as lectors/readers, gift bearers, greeters, liturgical dancers, ushers, etc.

How can I get involved in any of these programs?

If you would like to be a CLOW leader, contact Ann Mitchell at 799-1865.  If you would like to have one of the special roles in any of the masses, contact Jennifer Sesto for Family Masses at 754-5649 or Nancy Johnson for Teen Masses at 957-4138.
