NEW SOLAR LINK

Infant Jesus of Prague is officially an Illinois Solar School!

The solar panels made possible through grants from BP and the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation were installed in December and immediately started transforming solar energy into electricity. While the frigid temperatures and snow cover hampered the energy we produced early on, our production numbers have soared with the recent improvements in conditions. In fact, in the first two weeks of February, we have almost doubled the amount of energy produced through out all of January. It will be exciting to see how much additional electricity we generate as the days turn longer and warmer. Check it out for yourselves! Click on the SOLAR PANEL LINK (link also on the right under

Quick Links). You will find informative graphs that show how much electricity we have produced over time as well as facts about how the environment has benefited from our system. Even greater than the environmental benefits are the educational ones. IJP students have the opportunity to work with the technology of the future. We are educating the scientists, engineers, and environmentalists who will someday discover the means to make renewable energy the practical choice.

IDENTIFICATION LANYARD - Sept 23, 2008 Memo to parents

Students in grades 4-8 will be issued an identification badge and must wear this badge at all time during the school day. The badges must be worn visibly with the face showing, around the neck on the lanyard. Students may be required to wear ID badges for some extracurricular activities. Students not wearing ID badges will be issued a lunch time detention. Chronic offenders will be referred to the principal or assistant principal.

New students will be supplied with their initial ID badges and lanyards at NO charge. There will be a $10 charge for replacement. Returning students were supplied with their initial lanyard which should be reused. If a replacement lanyard is required, the cost is $5.

Registration for NEW families

For Fall 2009 for grades Preschool through 8 please call the school office at 708-799-5200 x0.

The requirements for registration are as follows:
Original State-issued birth certificate
Baptismal certificate
$200.00 Non-refundable registration fee for K-8
Separate $200.00 Non-refundable registration fee for preschool
For the 3 year old preschool program your child must be 3 by 9-1-09
For the 4 year old preschool program your child must be 4 by 9-1-09
For Kindergarten your child must 5 by 9-1-09
*Note: In order to register in the school as a parishioner, you MUST HAVE a certificate from the rectory indicating that you are a REGISTERED PARISHIONER. You may contact the rectory office, 799-5400 ext. 200, to obtain your certificate. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO REGISTER YOUR CHILD WITHOUT THIS CERTIFICATE. Parish registration takes place the 4th Sunday of each month except for July and December after the 10:30 am Mass (next date January 25, 2009).
